One of the most stylish and graceful item of jewelry which can be worn at every occasion with every dress are silver bracelets. It might be possible that with the passage of time silver gets dull or tarnish. Tarnishing or oxidation usually occurs due to the presence of many elements in air like Oxygen and Sulfur. Even salt, which residue in your hands, also causes tarnishing. In this article, I am going to share some tips and techniques which will surely help you in taking proper care of your silver bracelets and helps in keeping them shiny for long time duration.
Prevention from Tarnish: To avoid tarnish on your bracelet due to some chemical elements or products is a matter of great significance. Try to keep your bracelet away from hair spray, hair oil, perfumes or deodorants, rubber and body lotions especially when you are wearing it because these items contains such chemicals which affects silver. It is better to remove your jewelry before using any of the items described above. Moreover, bleach, ammonia, nail polish removers, turpentine and acids are also harmful for your silver jewelry and do not take shower with your silver bracelet on. If you follow all the instructions which I have just told you, I am sure your silver jewelry will not tarnish for decades.
Appropriate Cleaning: Cleaning your bracelet is very important issue in order to avoid any tarnish or oxidation. For cleaning, you must ensure that you are not going to use any rough material which can leave a scratch on it. You must take cotton or lint-free cloth for cleaning of your silver jewelry. Furthermore, you can wear plastic gloves while cleaning. Remember, do not use 'Rubber Gloves' while cleansing because rubber can make your silver to get tarnish.
So, with plastic gloves and cotton you are ready to begin the cleaning of your silver bracelet. First remove any dust particles or debris which can cause scratch on item. Now, rinse the bracelet with warm water and soap and let it dry. Next, you can get it polish which is available in liquid and paste forms. You can select any form of polish and apply it. Then finally, be sure to remove all the polish from bracelet by rinsing it in water and let it be pat dry.
